Cailyn Eccles' winning entry in the I Love Learning competition

Two Hamilton students have won iPads for themselves and their schools in an art competition.
More than 2000 students from around the country entered posters and videos in the New Zealand Educational Institute's 'I Love Learning' competition.
Year 4 student Cailyn Eccles at Te Kowhai School and Rebecca Martinsen, in Year 7 at Fairfield Intermediate, were among the winners. They were presented with their 16GB iPad2s - and one or their school - last Friday (SUBS: 26 October) at full school assemblies.
The competition is held each year to recognise the value of learning generally, not just focusing on literacy and numeracy.
Cailyn said the yellow kowhai flowers on her poster represent her school. "The hearts at the side show how much I love learning. The koru pattern is for my kapa haka, which I also love."
The prizes were donated by Telco Technology Services.
