One dead after Maeroa house fire

A person has died in a house fire in Hamilton this morning.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Ridout St, Maeroa, about 10am.

Police said initial enquiries indicated the fire was not suspicious.

The death had been referred to the coroner.
