Crawshaw School will be chock full of families next Monday evening as they take part in the twilight Crawshaw Duathlon.

A joint initiative between Sport New Zealand, Hamilton City Council and Sport Waikato, the duathlon is open to people of all ages.

Held for the first time last year, the duathlon will this year take a different route and the distances have been changed. The course for under sixes is run/walk half a lap of the school field, cycle or scooter four times around a court, then another half lap of the school field. The open age group duathlon is a 1.4km walk/run, 1.1km scooter, skate or bike, and another 1.4km run/walk. The start and finish is at Crawshaw School.

There are spot prizes up for grabs, including two bikes and bike helmets. A healthy barbecue will be provided at the end.

Registration is at 5pm and entry is by gold coin. All money raised will go towards Christmas in Crawshaw - an annual celebration held in Crawshaw Park. This year's Christmas in Crawshaw will be held on December 11 from 6-8pm.

If the weather is inclement the duathlon will be postponed to Tuesday November 13.
