Biker killed in Waikato crash
A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Waikato's Kaimai Ranges this afternoon.
Inspector Andrew Brill of northern police communications said the crash happened on Thompson Track on the Matamata side, just after 1pm.
Police, ambulance and the Westpac rescue helicopter attended but the rider died at the scene, he said.
No details were known about the person.
The police serious crash unit would be investigating the cause of the crash.
